Business Networking in West Kent - Events in Tunbridge Wells

As technology steps up a gear, so do the cyber criminals.  So here are two dangers to watch out for at the moment:

1.  World Cup malware

Because the World Cup is underway, online criminals are taking advantage
of this.  The email sent comes from a well known sportswear
manufacturer.  As a well as a link, there is a pdf attachment to double
the chances of a successful attack.

Please don't open any suspicious emails, and make sure your security
software is up-to-date.  If you have any queries, please phone or email
me.

2.  Fake shopping websites

Over the past week, I have had 4 emails in my inbox inviting me to click on links to 'super-saver' websites.  They look authentic enough, claim to be partners with Microsoft and other big software companies.  Don't be fooled by them, they are known to send spam out, and they are all based in Vietnam and South Korea.
Two very good pieces of software - WorldIP (tells youre the server is based) and Apelord (if you get dodg emails, view the message source, copy it into Apelord, and you'll see where the email has come from)
