People, please be vigilant, There are lots of new threats around at the moment, the latest being Carberp.  This replaces Zeus; this worm has become well-known and you've probably heard of it in the press.  If you're a malware writer, the less exposure you get the better, hence the creation of Carberp.

Carberp, like Zues, is designed to infect computers with malicious software with a view to steal financial details.  However, Carberp is nastier than Zues:

It resides in system memory, it can infect Windows XP, Vista and 7.

2011 is going to be a record year for cybercrime. One of the more worrying ways to lure people is scareware, where a fake antivirus / security package is installed, either through clicking on a link or by clicking on an advert on a legitimate website. The crinimals try to get you to purchase the fake software by 'finding' viruses that aren't there in the first place! This also downloads more nasties onto the system as well. Also, as more people buy Macs, malicious software will become more common on them.Contact me if you have any concerns.
