Our next meeting to be held at the Cuban, Tunbridge Wells

August 30th 2007

The fastest-growing free business networking club in the country is holding its fifth meeting at The Cuban in Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday September 11 at 7.30pm.

The relaxed and fun events held by West Kent Networking over the past five months have captured hearts and minds in the business community throughout Kent and Sussex.

"This promises to be our best meeting ever," said co-founder Stephen Fleming, "The Cuban should be an excellent venue for us and fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to achieve – informal, relaxed, business networking. And, best of all, it’s all free."

Situated in the heart of Tunbridge Wells on Newton Road, The Cuban is behind the pedestrian precinct outside Royal Victoria Place. The meeting will be held n the Buena Vista Dining Room on the first floor.

The Cuban’s Managing Director Roger Payne comments:

"The Cuban not only brings a new cuisine to Tunbridge Wells but also a fantastic location for celebrations and networking events. We fully support innovative organisations such as The West Kent Networking Group, the business community at large and individual entrepreneurs within Tunbridge Wells."

There will also be a short talk about the benefits of hypnotherapy from Karen Martin.

Free Networking Growing on in Kent and Sussex

13th June 2007

Organisers have hailed the second meeting of a free networking group for West Kent and East Sussex as a ‘huge success’ and believe they may have the fastest growing business networking club in the country.

With 18 business people crammed into a small room at the Mount Edgcumbe Pub in Tunbridge Wells, West Kent Networking (www.westkentnetworking.co.uk) will soon need to find a larger venue to meet the huge demand in Kent and Sussex.

‘We must be the fastest growing networking club in the country,’ said co-founder Stephen Fleming. ‘The enthusiasm of members is pushing this on at a fantastic pace – it’s a very exciting phenomenon.

‘We’re really starting to get noticed now. Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has requested a meeting to discuss how they can get involved and help out.

‘We will be staying at the Mount Edgcumbe for now but if we keep expanding at this rate, and that’s our aim, we’ll need somewhere bigger. Now is the time to push this on. The more members we get, the more business opportunities will arise for everybody.’

There was an interesting mix of people at last night’s (Tuesday June 12) meeting. Professions as diverse as hypnotherapy and business consultancy were represented and people came from a wide area, from Maidstone in the east to Crowborough in the west.

‘This is the sort of diversity we’re after,’ said Stephen. ‘Business knows no boundaries and neither does West Kent Networking. I would urge all business people to register for free at www.westkentnetworking.co.uk now.’

The next meeting will be at the Mount Edgcumbe Pub, Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday July 10 at 7.30pm. There will be short talk from West Kent Networking co-founder Jez Timms and website designer Mandy Covington on ‘Does your Website Comply to Standards’ and plenty of opportunities to make some new business contacts.

West Kent Networking launches in style and reveals plans for nationwide expansion

May 9th 2007

FREE business networking club for West Kent launches in style and reveals plans for nationwide expansion.

West Kent Networking (www.westkentnetworking.co.uk ) hosted a very successful first meeting at the Mount Edgcumbe Hotel in Tunbridge Wells last night (Tuesday May 8) with members discovering an extraordinary amount of mutual interests and potential business link-ups.

‘It was incredibly successful,’ said Stephen Fleming, event organiser and editorial director of www.copythatworks.co.uk . ‘There were people in seemingly totally unrelated trades who made really useful connections. I met a foreign exchange dealer, Brian Hogg, who may be able to help me with a sideline I’m working on involving wine-making. It’s that sort of unexpected link-up that makes this so worthwhile.’

West Kent Networking is the brainchild of Stephen Fleming and Jez Timms, technical director of JN Squared (www.jnsquared.co.uk ), and last night Jez outlined his exciting vision for the future of free networking throughout Kent and across the country.

Jez said: ‘There’s a niche for quality free networking in West Kent and beyond. There are a lot of very expensive and not very effective networking clubs out there. West Kent Networking is different. It’s free and offers members the chance to earn commission, give their business a higher profile and link up with others.’

The next meeting is at the Mount Edgcumbe Hotel, Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday June 12 at 7.30pm. Stephen Fleming will be giving a short talk on ‘Common Copywriting Mistakes’. For more details and free online registration go to www.westkentnetworking.co.uk

Networking Club For West Kent

May 3rd 2007

West Kent Networking (www.westkentnetworking.co.uk ) is a new business networking club launching today to maximise the potential of one of the country’s most vibrant areas. This free service will bring together West Kent and East Sussex business people to help them work together, gain more clients and increase profitability.

Stephen Fleming, Hawkhurst-based Editorial Director of www.copythatworks.co.uk and founder of West Kent Networking, said: ‘The more contacts business people make, the more business they will get. If you know someone who needs something and you know someone who can provide it, you’re likely to connect the two.'

It’s a simple system of communication. This is not a money-making exercise. There is a genuine need for an online and offline networking club in this area. West Kent Networking will provide mutual support, contacts, sales leads and even the chance to earn commission.’ The first meeting is to be held at the Mount Edgcumbe Hotel, Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday May 8 at 7.30pm.
