Millenium Clock Scandal
Calling at the Gateway I was told repair of “that clock” is in hand. It has been stopped since well before Christmas. Apparently the contractors responsible are “very busy”. .If they are the same people who sold the council this boondoggle in the first place, haven’t they set themselves up with work forever! ! drove by the old cinema on Friday before seeing the Courier. The weather was particularly depressing, but the thought came to me suddenly, “Aha! Why not refurbish it temporarily, say for 5 years fixed term. The auditorium is a skating rink (popular in TW at this moment). The original 1930s restaurant reopened selling local produce ; the shops reopened to include ones for greengrocer Bishop and the soup kitchen for the homeless, alternatively Waitrose, Aldi or The Co-op might like to…See More
