john nye Innovate

Like to innovate but can't think of new cat's eyes, internet or bag-less vacuum?  Ponder;  doing existing things better, faster or cheaper may be just as satisfying.

john nye Why social networking?

Those I want to have as friends (a) I need to have met face to face (b) there must be some common interest and (c) with similar values.  Things I value are freedom, mutuality and productivity.  What do you value?

john nye 2012; greetings

Two-Oh-One-Two, the year is new.

Where shall we go?  I feel I know;

Make earthly space a healthier place.

Ideas, then action; share satisfaction.

Andrew Stirling New to the group

I have just joined WKN and am aiming to build my contacts and business, being a local to the TW area. I set up my building interiors business a few months ago, having been in the industry for a good number of years and am keen to get involved with anyone who aims to either move their business or to change their current environment - this includes designers working for their clients. All aspects of interiors contracting are covered, from simple partitioning or ceiling works, to complete…

john nye Are you an overhead?

Went to Waterstones to check price of book for a present. Can get at Amazon for 33% less. "They've got less overheads" explained the sales assistant.  I wonder what those overheads contribute.  Are you an overhead?

john nye Youth unemployment; what you can do.

Act on leaflets through your door. Recently two boys earned the minimum wage for washing my car and creosoting a garden shed.  Two girls were less lucky; I have no babies left to sit for.  These young people deserve encouragement.  If you know a youngster toying with the idea of their own business, a useful Chrsitmas present for them is entrepreeur Luke Johnson's book  "Start It Up;  why running your own business is easier than you think". Useful hints interspersed with anecdotes.

PAUL ANTHONY EARWAKER Oh my God I'm Struggling

Dear all members firstly can I thank you for letting me join your networking group.  I am really new to social media and if it was not for Susi Ibelati I would still not be on the map, she has been sooo helpful I must be on the verge of harassing her. I now realise that clicking on everyone on TWITTER is not the way forward I need the followers badly to get my business name out there but following someone in Australia is not for me as I am sure they will get to where they want before I get…

Susi Ibelati BREAKING AND ENTERING

I had a wrestling match in the kitchen this morning, but not I might add with someone resembling the Incredible Hulk. I was grappling with a plastic carton which was proving to be impossible to open. Optimistically, I had attempted to prise it apart with my fingers, followed by a futile attempt at frenzied…

john nye Long term economic growth and national prosperity

Our teenagers  must be encouraged to take up business related careers, rather than wanting to be pop stars and footballers.  My research project needs data about your own career choices and moves since teenage.  I would be most appreceative if you could answer a short (9 questions) questionnaire via email. Just answer "OK" and I will send you it.  Best wishes to all.    John

Kieron Robertson Financial News Update we 29/07/2011

How are you?

I cannot quite believe we are fast approaching August already! Where does the time go?

Bear with me on this but, I have also noticed recently just how much my children enjoy playing with Lego… I am not talking about some “Harry Potter”, “Doctor Who” or “Star Wars” version that you can buy these days, just the plain old vanilla flavour Lego, the one you and I probably had as children – in fact, some of it may well be my old Lego?!

Anyway, without wishing to…

Susi Ibelati HONESTY - THE BEST POLICY

This may well become less frequent, now that the digital world has come under the remit of the Advertising Standards Authority with strict new codes, bringing it in line with off-line…

Kieron Robertson Financial News Update we 22/07/2011

Hi, how have you been this week?

As well as the usual reviews, my week has been spent looking at care fees funding for a couple of clients and a few trustee investment cases as well as another client who simply needed reassuring that she still had enough money to live on – to say she is prudent would be an understatement and her assets are well into 6 figures!!

We now face the summer holidays so my wife has been busy planning her diary (and mine!) for the next 6 weeks or so…
