Business Networking in Kent - Events in Tunbridge Wells

The evenings will soon be getting lighter and brighter and our moods will follow suit. Why not make the most of this time to polish up your self-image, in time to kick-start Spring with a positive bounce in your step?

Stop glancing scornfully at yourself in the mirror. No-one else is as critical as you, so you have the control and power to transform the way you think and feel about yourself, and the ability to express that feeling to others. Your mind should be working with you, not against you, on this. Creating a positive self-image is a fundamental step on your journey to living the life you really want to live. If you feel down-in-the-mouth about your appearance your mood, along with the way you dress yourself, will attract negative responses from others.

It is not all about the clothes you wear however, although wearing garments that fit you properly and accentuate your best features can do a lot to boost your personal confidence. Being happy with the person you are inside will allow that inner glow to shine and dazzle others. Feel good about yourself, your abilities and the way you feel inside, and you will sparkle in everyone’s company.

Visualise yourself looking, acting and feeling as confident as someone you admire. For ladies, that might be Angelina Jolie or Fern Britten; guys may opt for James Bond. Picture them walking into a room full of people. Pay attention to the way they carry themselves and project their personality. Notice how others react to them. Now feel yourself glowing with that inner confidence, and imagine yourself in their shoes. How energised do you feel? Notice how your confidence is abundant, and how you are more relaxed and accepting. Practice this visualisation regularly and you will reap the benefits of confident thinking.

The next time you look in the mirror make a point of only noticing the things you like. Maybe that’s the cut of your hair, your welcoming smile, your good posture… Admire the good points and accept the ones you feel aren’t quite up to scratch. Whenever you start feeling a little self-conscious focus only on the good points. Doing this will lift your mood and boost your confidence instantly.
